Area Children Hunt Easter Eggs at Wesley Healthcare Center

The Easter Bunny apparently made an overnight hop through the grounds of Wesley Healthcare Center in Auburn, Indiana. And over 200 children from the community gathered at the Center on Saturday, April 4, 2009, to hunt Easter Eggs that the long-eared personality left behind. Earlier this week, residents of Wesley Healthcare filled over twelve-hundred plastic eggs with candy for the Easter Bunny to hide. Residents were assisted by students from Lakewood Park Christian School. Under clear blue skies, the children equipped with baskets, bags and buckets eagerly awaited the count-down to begin their search. Residents, parents and staff watched as four different age groups began their hunt.

Following the hunt, the Easter Bunny welcomed the children to the dining room, where they gathered with facility residents for refreshments, including home-baked Easter cookies. Many of the children (and some adults, too) took the opportunity to have photos taken with the guest celebrity. Afterward, attention turned to the drawing for bicycles. The Easter Bunny awarded bicycles to Joe Glover, Juliet Gunther, Caleb Ellinson, Daniele Keller, Brian Miller and Lilly Moore. The drawing for an Easter basket concluded the event, won by Braiden Herzog. The Easter Egg Hunt is an annual event at Wesley Healthcare Center, and welcomes all children from the community.
